Yale Medical School and Yale-New Haven Hospital are seeking to expand their acute neuroscience program with the addition of four neurointensivists. This position is supported by the division of neurocritical care and emergency neurology and will be tailored to match the overall career interests of the individual. The neurointensivists will perform clinical duties across the health system including the (1) Neurosciences ICU, (2) Medical and Surgical ICUs in the multidisciplinary care of arrest and traumatic brain injury, and (3) ICUs at our delivery network through our tele-NICU consult program.

Yale Neuroscience is a rapidly growing, internationally recognized program that enjoys strong collaborations with Epilepsy, Vascular Neurology, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, and Neuroradiology. The Neuroscience ICU at Yale New Haven Hospital is a thriving, cutting edge 19-bed unit poised for further expansion. We employ the most advanced technologies, including a nationally recognized continuous ICU EEG program, the first portable MRI system in the world, and an active noninvasive and invasive advanced neuromonitoring program. We train six neurocritical care fellows in a nationally accredited program. Our team consists of nationally recognized leading investigators across a breadth of scientific disciplines.

The essential duties of this position include (1) diagnosing and caring for inpatients with neurocritical issues, (2) teaching residents and fellows, and (3) participating in academic activities. We are especially enthusiastic to invite individuals from diverse backgrounds with a range of professional interests.

The successful candidates will be an excellent clinician and educator, capable of leading a large team with students, residents, fellows, and advanced nurse practitioners/physician assistants from Yale Medical School and Yale New-Haven Hospital. They will enjoy collaborations with colleagues in other critical care units and attention to patient centered care, patient outcomes, and quality improvement supported by a robust institutional infrastructure. In addition, we are interested in recruiting individuals who have a track record of excellence and pursue it relentlessly in whatever domains they choose to develop. Yale Medical School offers one of the largest CTSAs regionally through the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, as well as multiple opportunities for formal training.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified/board eligible in Neurology and have completed a fellowship in Neurocritical Care. Applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut. Faculty rank will be based on experience.

It is an exciting time to join Yale Neurology with the upcoming opening of The Adams Neurosciences Center at Yale New Haven Hospital. The ANC will serve as an integrated inpatient academic hub for the diagnosis, treatment, and investigation of complex neurological and neurosurgical disorders and serve as a major access point of patients requiring continuing outpatient care.
